Inspire me. I'm looking for music that encourages irresponsible and reckless driving, because in these fast and furious tymz, I don't want to wait around a decade and a half for my massive heart attack; I want to die NOW!

I was given a big box of cassettes for my car by my Dad's womun last night, it's amazing! It scans everything from the credible (Bowie, Pink Floyd) to the insufferable (Celine Dion, 2 Unlimited and some other sickening 90s dross). There's loads of ska, reggae and soul so I'm happy with that, there's also tons of those rock compilations with the same fucking 14 songs on them, but, you know, it keeps Steppenwolf in colostomy bags so I can't complain. Also, if I ever, ever manage to get a girl in the car, I've now got Barry White's Greatest Hits, for that sexy words. However, my favourite find, and definitely a boon for my favourite kind of 'specialist' romance is this:

One of the best tapes I currently have in the car is Faith No More's Introduce Yourself. I know you don't rate Chuck Mosely-era FNM, I used to hate it when I was a kid too, I thought he sounded like a right mong, but a reappraisal is in order. What he lacks in technique, he makes up for in attitude. The rest of the band are shit hot, and the songs are pretty good too.
There's tons of Mariah Carey tapes in the box.

Yip. Well, I don't know if I drive, exactly. I operate an automobile. Sometimes, lapses in concentration have made me drive with two wheels on the pavement, in fact, it's happened so often we've come up with a name for the practice; Joe Jutting. Don't ask why, cos I don't remember. I usually spend my time in the car thinking up new songs, I came up with a good one a while ago called The World Is Full Of Ordinary Spaghetti but when I got home I couldn't remember it

1930s American jazz (New York or New Orleans, preferably) is perfect to drive to in the city late at night. There's nothing like it.

I think we know the best driving album is clearly Andy C's Nightlife.
Play this on repeat the whole way and you'll be there in no time.

Why not Gary Glitter's Party Album Side Two?
If Side One is that awesome, you're in for a treat. Also, five hour trip? You're leaving Wales? Won't you get homesick? Or arrested?
