my best mates at primary school were a Chinese fella, a Japanese fella and a Jordanian kid whose family moved when there was a war on. i was such a cosmo kid and i never even realised.

OMG. Serious? More than half of the kids in my primary, secondary and college were from ethnic minorities. I guess it's different up North. We met some northern girls in the local club and were walking home with them (they were staying in a hotel nearbye, no dodgy intentions I should state!), and one of them came out with this cracker:

"Not being funny, but aren't there a lot of brown people around here? I mean...how do you tell them apart?"

Me and my mate were gobsmacked at the idiocy and ignorance.

I never had any black mates til uni. Only because there weren't any to be friends with.

My mate at the office I used to work in in Manchester was black and had the best sense of humour ever, and I did once mention I did sometimes have trouble telling chinese and black people apart if I don't know them very well. He thought it was hilarious.

Please note, when I said this it was made clear that it was because I couldn't tell the difference. I don't actually think all black people look the same. DUH.

No matter what I write now, I'm still going to sound racist aren't I.

This being said, you couldn't MOVE for foreign students in Sunderland. ACTUALLY in the year I was there I lived with people from Greece, Nigeria AND Cyprus. YEAH.

you'd be amazed at how many exotic people are down here. my neighbours certainly are amazed by it. we have coons and spooks everywhere, apparently. it's nice to know.

I heard black people's willies are the same size as everyone else's. Thinking about it, it's a bit silly to think that as everything else is the same, the only difference would be an ENORMOUS member. A little convenient don't you think?

i'd never heard spook used in that context before but it was pretty obvious what he meant.

there might be a few cooks knocking about. i'll keep an eye out for checkered trousers. don't see many spoons around though. maybe i'm just unobservant.
