I asked them to check my meter but they said if it was alright they charge you £60 for coming out because so many want them checked. | |

| That video was good quality as well. It makes me think of Erasure. Someone had an Erasure thread and I thought of that one ...then I realised it was Depeche Mode. I think it must be Vince Clarke. Somebody on the messages said he played for both. Fun Lovin' Criminals - Korean Bodega | |

| Yeah, he did. He left pretty early on though. I've not really got into Erausre too much, they're a bit too camp, without the quality tunes that Depeche Mode had.

| The sound on that one is like Erasure. I don't know that many Erasure songs but they have a certain sound to them. It's a bit like Yazoo. Maybe its just the sound of the era ... like the hairstyles. They said on Jools Holland that the 90's was their favourite time. I suppose they were a bit more grown up then.

| I'm surprised they said that. They were all going through some rough, rough patches during the 90s. Dave actually physically died three times through OD'ing, and Martin had turned to alcholism, and Flect cracked up with a nervous breakdown. It was why Wilder left.
It was their best time for music output though.

| Yeah, it was the best time for their music. Songs of Faith and Devotion is probably their best record, because they were all going through such shit in their own lives, it's really quite deep and dark. You know Primal Scream supported them on the '94 tour? That would've been a brilliant gig to go to. I was born a good decade too late lol.
You going to any fests this summer?

| I don't think so. I might go to France if I get my passport in time. It will cost me too much to go anywhere else. I can never see anywhere like that anyway. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQWszrZHBPI | |

| Yeah, fests can be a bit tricky, when you're so far from the stage. Plus some acts don't really do themselves justice on a festival level. Others are brilliant fest bands though, seen Supergrass three times, all at fests, and they've been a highlight of the event every time.
You still havin' passport issues then?

| Not really. I asked my Dentist to sign it in the end. He was happy to do it he said. I just have to put all the documents together and send it off.
They look a bit older on the Enjoy The Silence video. That must have been the 90's.
Depeche Mode and Primal Scream would be good together. Maybe they should both headline different days at Glastonbury. I would like to go there one day. That would be a good line up. :-) I don't think either of them have headlined ... or if they have I missed it.

| Primal Scream were second on the bill behind Basement Jaxx when Kylie pulled out of Glasto a coupla years ago, they really should've headlined, but it's probably best they didn't, considering the spectacle they put on! I don't recall Depeche Mode ever playing Glasto, actually. I don't think they've done a European fest appearance for ages, apart from Bennicassim. They like to put on the whole stage show, flashing lights scenery and all that jazz.
1990 it would've been - it was on Violator.
