| Ghostbusters? It's a good film, but there are better films for comedy. And where's Borat? | |

Even though the number one is obviously relevant to my interests, I hardly think it's the funniest film of the last quarter century. It's sly, subtle humour (like that bit when the ghost gives him a blowjob and that cake exploding and stuff), not a rib-tickling howler. When I was a kid, I thought it was a HORROR film. Also, if anyone genuinely thinks When Harry Met Sally is funnier than Withnail & I, they deserve to be shot. Crud list.

| I didn't even think Withnail and I was particularly funny. Too obviously try-hard. | |

| That's where the problem lies with compiling a list like this - for such a lucrative genre, comedy is surely the most divisive and least respected style of film because, wait for it, humour is subjective. It'd be interesting to know how many comedy films have won Oscars. | |

| Borat was nominated... generally you don't see much 'and the winner is... Anchorman!!!*
*Speaking of which, Anchorman should be on that terrible, terrible list.

| Withnail & I is the only one that deserves to be on that list. Maybe Superbad too...but not in the top 20. | |
