For the PC try Company of Heroes, or Dawn of War/Dawn of War 2. Or you could try any of the Total War series.

is BWii any cop then? it looks like it could be fun but i'm useless with strategy games like that.

You can always seize control of the little running army men and play it like a third-person shooter if you're not in the mood to point and click (although you will still be pointing and clicking, I guess).

I'd say it's worth the plunge if you're curious and have a spare tenner.
