I can get away with this sort of thing cos I'm an affable scamp, and funniest boardie 2008 ©. I saw this beefy middle-aged guy at a bus stop once, pissed out of his mind at four in the afternoon, shouting extremely profane abuse at some very frightened looking nerdish schoolkids on the other side of the road. Following that, he proclaimed to anybody else who would listen that he was a 'lovable rogue'. I don't think you can label yourself a folk hero at the best of times, but that was so shockingly brazen that I almost found myself warming to him. I didn't, of course, he was a complete cunt.
