Given both feet have to touch the floor for a wrestler to be eliminated in the Royal Rumble and battle royals, how come nobody has ever concluded to just hop a bit before getting back into the ring?

Because landing on one leg has a high chance of breaking your leg, and requires excellent balance.

You should check out the snooker these days, Zepster. They have entrance music and there's even talk of a Royal Rumble 64-man elimination tournament. I personally can't wait for the pre-match backstage interviews with John Parrott (Sean Mooney) and Willie Thorne (Mean Gene).
