Does anyone have an original xbox?

I've had my original xbox for years and it's always been super reliable (it even played copied CDs, which many oher xbox's wouldn't) but yesterday I got an original xbox 'red ring of death.' I didn't even know this could happen on an original xbox.

Has this happened to ay of you before? and if so... what do I do? I'm not wrapping a goddamn towel 'round it, either

I have, but to be honest, I barely play it, and since it cost me all of a score with Pro Ev thrown in off a mate, I doubt I'd give it a fuck if it did go tits up.

Haha. It's all I have since my ps2 broke a few months back. I'm not cool enough for this new generation buisness.

i am too poor for a 360. but even if i wasn't, i'd probly be swayed more toward ps3 (don't know why)

just aged. i've had it many a year. i don't think my mother giving it abuse over the years helped either, she never liked the damn thing

I've had mine since December '01/January '02 and up until now it's worked completely fine. Has your ring ever flashed red? Apparently the nature of the ring determines the problem. ie if it's just a solid red ring with no flashes it means that your xbox is overheated, whereas a constant red-to-green flash means it needs service. Mine's the latter.

Mine never did that! I had no warning of it's tragic demise. My friend said that when she sent her's back to microsoft to get it repaired, they sent her a 360. It was probably a mistake, so bargain! I'm not going to bother trying, through - hefty p&p innit :p

Nah, true. I'm not bothering with the ps3 until all the good Japanese RPGs start coming out for it. The first will be FF13, then lots will follow. Apart from the Elder Scrolls games, xbox fails for qood quality RPG.

runescape is the only rpg for me

hahaha, I remember those little items. I had one of those little easter eggs they had but I was too sentimental to sell it. If I remember my password I might actually still have it... that would be worth a bit in the game since its about five years since I had my easter egg

Why's that? No trading any more? I haven't logged onto Runescape since about 2003

they've banished all sorts as it were

you can't item swap from one account to another

you have to pay the set price for it

the wilderness was the best part of the game though... why change it?

that was my opinion. atleast there's a dueling arena where you can stake most of your money

if you win you keep what they staked

if you lose you lose everything you stake
