He sat by the hole in the ground, the hole where the pond once was. Once it was full of life, fish, plants, even the odd duck, but now....now through something so simple as heat the pnd was gone, and with it all the life that had once existed in its watery grip. He frowned, he had liked the fish, the plants, and especially the ducks, he found this little spot peaceful, a nice place for him to regain his fragile sanity, a place fo him to focus on who he was, what he had become, and what he might yet be.

But his tears, dripping into the pond as they were, they were of no use.....maybe, maybe one day, with enough rain, the pond could be reborn, but for the life that it had once harboured, that would take longer to regain its foothold, he knew that he would have to go and found a new place, a bench, or a hill that would inspire him to evaluate the world and all that lived upon its surface.....but until he could find that place he knew he would live in fear, in fear of his bottled up thoughts and hate and love and desire.

He could no longer observe the ducks.
