| It depends on the size of the company, small businesses can't afford maternity pay and the temporary replacement, however bigger businesses can! |

| For all we know the woman might be amazing at her job, have a kid for a year, then come back and be amazing at her job, more amazing than the guy could ever be!
Also men get paternity leave aswell now, not as much but he'd still be out for a while! |

| I thought the average age a mother is at conception of her first child was closer to late 20s, if not the early 30s now? I know it's a rising figure.
For me, it'd depend on the role, and who else is currently employed in the same department. | |
