I read this yesterday and he is right, the gulf is massive. I think it's just the way the game has progressed in Europe.

The South American clubs usually play with five at the back in the modern Fifa Club World Cup. Bit of a shame, though, Brazillian clubs like Internacional have so much history but just don't have the budget to compete with Europe, let alone England.
