Protests.

On the news it was just mentioned that the recent protests about the current issues in the middle east drain around a million pounds so they could be policed.

And what did these protests achieve?....fuck all.

What could they have possibly ahcieved?......fuck all.

Could some protests in england have any possible influence on the middle east?....no.

Protests....are they for the most part an utter fucking waste of time, energy, and resources?

Well they sure as hell aren't likely to fight, so they're best off just complaining.

Peace protests are fundamental to humanity.

When in doubt, protest.

Protests about something happen many miles away are pointless.

I mean what are the protests in london going to actually do?

Will everyone fighting in the middle east suddenly go "Shit the english are protesting, we'd best stop".

No they're more likely to think "We're pissing off those bastard english, lets for a few more rockets to really fuck them off".

I was once in a tree protest. The council were going to chop down this massive beautiful old tree, so I joined some people and sat around it and stuff.

They did it anyway.

Protests seem a bit futile, especially when it's someone like Gary Glitter protesting his innocence. However, protests about worthy causes are essential to making your voice heard, like when basically everyone in Britain protested against the Iraq war, Tony Blair immediately recalled the troops, didn't he?

Well at least that affected you and you could directly so something about it.

And councils are retards in general.

Alot of the big portests are idiotic, about things that can't possibly be changed by some middle class uni student whingers.

Rather than protesting try to do something constructive and inspiring rather than gathering in huge groups and stopping traffic.

Protesting is a way of expressing how you feel about an issue and brings attention to it. It might not solve anything but it might draw public support from the media coverage it gets.

I don't necessarily agree with protests but I agree with the right to protest.

Isn't Tony Blair the Special Envoy to the Middle East? He might be influenced by a few hundred Brits protesting about something.

Erm recycling does help....maybe not as much as most hippies think, but it still will help the world to a degree.

Not as much as finding a way to stop cows farting though.

Any kind of religious fighting/war is NEVER going to stop, either pick a side or leave 'em to it.

See, the lorry drivers should've learnt from the French when they were on the fuel protests - instead of blocking up delivery from one refinery, you could probably block up all of London with all of ten parked articulated trucks. We're too calm and don't fuck things up enough when we protest, so it's pointless. No-one listens to peaceful hippy shits. You need full on petrol bombs and arson spress.

I also wish I had been a hippy and had protested in the 60's in San Francisco. That would have been good.

Their protests work..not saying it's better for it, but when they do civil disobedience, they do it well. Needs to be sustained obviously, but nothing beats uncontrollable anarchy for getting the Govt to listen to you.
