alright, some googling reveals the answer: the stun grenade actually causes a small amount of damage if it goes off right next to someone. if they are already injured or in last stand, itll kill em.

Actually I only used that on the first map where we got are arses handed to us.

On the rest it was MP4 all the way.

im sick of being the only one that likes creek. everyone always votes to skip it. it only gets played once out of every 3 or 4 times.

also, you need to get to level 15. thats when you unlock hardcore mode. maybe then we can make you into a killer.

Considering how much I struggle at my current level, I doubt that's possible. Call of Duty 4 is fair for everyone in the world but me.

level 8, arent you? well, there arent many weapons/perks unlocked at that point. it gets easier.

what sort of weapons are you favouring?

Um, as I recall I'm using the MP5 at the recommendation of a freind and USP .45 (I think, going by the picture of it I've found).

im not a big fan of the mp5, myself (especially on non-hardcore games), but it all depends on your playing style as to how effective the weapons are. dont like that pistol, either.

do you prefer to be assaulting at close range, then?

If you mean stumbling blindly around the map and either being caught or catching people off-guard, then yeah, that's pretty much how I roll.

What would you suggest?

have a go playing with weapons suitable at different ranges. the SAW is pretty good as an all rounder, i find, so maybe try that to see what kind of tactics you find yourself turning to (though the m4 and g36 are versatile too).

i usually snipe, but ive never had much luck with it in non-hardcore games because of the killcam showing your position, so maybe give that a go in hardcore.

my tactics tend to involve camping, but even if you like to move around more, id recommend camping for 20-30 seconds at a time. get into the rhythm of checking for enemies, sprinting to the next bit of cover, crouching and firing at anyone in the general area. repeat until victory.

if you prefer your killing real up close, like with shotguns and stuff, then i cant help you. i always get shot before i get into effective range and storming buildings becomes a clumsy farce when im doing it.

I love th M4.

On other sorts of games I do prefer to snipe and generally go for stealth approaches, but I still feel so green on this game that I don't really feel up to trying that until I can at least find my way around everywhere.

I will have a go later following your advice though.

itll be a bit disorienting at first. its a lot more suited to the stealthy/sniper approach, though.
