| And I'm going to try and sneak as many film quotes into it as possible. It's on Apocalypse Now, and so far I've only referenced the Princess Bride. Feel free to nominate a line you'd like to see make an appearence. | |

| try and quote Neo in the closing conclusion.
"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries, a world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you."
try and work it in as an actual part of your conclusion as in, what you think of all the stuff you've just written, rather than just a quote.

Considering the documentary on Apocalypse Now was released in 1991 I can assure you I have already used a small portion of this one. I can't use the others, so far.

| hi gonch, i'm worried you'll end up putting in rather more mundane quotes than the ones likely to be suggested in this thread, so i've decided to give you an incentive. you will be awarded points for stealthing quotes into it on the following basis:
1 point: a quote of your own choosing.
2 points: a quote somebody else has suggested.
5 points: a star wars quote.
10 points: a quote from the ghostbusters fan-script.
points will be added to your current total and will go towards winning one of the prizes mentioned in the other thread. if you do not earn at least 20 points, you will not pass and there will be consequences. be honest; i will find out, if you're not.

| How is writing about Apocalypse Now academic, anyway? Even I could do it. Look
The ceiling fan symbolises the protagonist's descent into looking at ceiling fans and imagorning they was helacopters.
See? | |

See? It's more about the directorial self-indulgence of latter day New Hollywood filmmakers and how this affected their films, in comparison to earlier examples. I wanted to do Heaven's Gate, but apparently I'm not allowed, so I settled for this.

I wanted to do Heaven's Gate, but apparently I'm not allowed, so I settled for this. matrix 2 and 3 vs #1 1968 to 1980. Sadly that's the cut-off point.

With any luck, I will. Especially if you count screenplays, short stories, novels, novellas, reviews, and comicbook scripts along with them.

| I just looked at your film diary. You watched 'Man Bites Dog'? It's brilliant, isn't it?
Justine agrees.

| It is definitely very good. It didn't exactly make me want to rush off to France, though, which is maybe why she ain't keen. | |
