Oxford aren't just middle class though, are they? I like that they're supposed to be this brilliantly outstanding intelligent bunch and still can't fill in a form properly or read the rules. Toff eejits.

i think we're getting into lower/mid-lower-mid/mid-upper/upper middle class territory. i know someone who went to Oxford and he was a very intelligent urchin. on the other side, the scarf on that bloke stood outside Manchester Uni tells me he's a bit toffy.

Wellllll....let's put it like this. People who went to my high school got in at Manc...no-one in our borough who didn't pay for schooling have ever got into Corpus Christi ! Says it all really.

Also what was funny about the story was his excuse he was trying to get funding for a Phd Course, and when he didn't get it he then found himself working at PricewaterhouseCooopers...anyone who knows anything about grad jobs for them knows you need to start applying half way through the academic year to get a position with them, he never intended to stay at the college in any case, the lying cunt.

yeah, my friend had a tentative placement sorted out at a law firm barely a couple of months into her course. they don't just drop into your lap.

They do if you wanna fall into a crummy grad job a couple of weeks after finishing.

Got my first job after starting applying a week after my last exam and had my second interview and confirmation two weeks later. Started a month to the day after the last of 'my exam, and hadn't even had my graduation ceremony. Which is probably why it was a shite job!

i couldn't possibly comment. i went to college and dicked about aimlessly for a few months afterwards. i'm still only bumbling along careerwise.
