i'm choosing to interpret this as games that have dominated my life at some point. people like to put stuff like Tetris in because they're deemed classic but i get nothing out of them.

i thought you would've discounted Unirally on the grounds of obscurism. it hardly changed the world but it was a class game.

I think it came out a bit late...most people had moved consoles, but it did well enough to be allowed.

i only got a SNES just before the N64 came out. i was an underprivileged child.

i think i spent too hard thinking of games pre-Gamecube. might replace Max Payne with it......

Police Quest. Agreed. Sierra's adventures were just as popular as LucasArts ones back in the day.

Police Quest 3: The Kindred is probably my fave.

I've heard of them, but then I've heard of alot of games that aren't going to make this list, I personal think Legacy of Kain: soul reaver is a great game...its in my all time top 10....but its not going in this list.

In the great scheme of videogame genres it is, its certainly one of the least played, many people have probably never even touched a point and click game.

Yeah if you're looking at gaming from the late 90s to now. The whole idea of a thread for 'classic' games, however, and you've really not got a clue. One of the biggest selling genres there were throughout the 80s and first half of the 90s.

Oh shut up you fucking dick, I'm older than you and have been gaming for longer and am a bigger game geek, it was at its height in the 90's for a while but thats it...what about the platformer which has been popular for 2 decades, as have many genres....point and click had a short period of popularity compared to a majority of genres.

I'll say it again, throughout the 80s and well into the mid 90s and they were one of the biggest selling genres of computer games. You can argue as much as you like but you'll be wrong.
